Dear parents,
The College received a certificate of appreciation this week from the Australian War Memorial in recognition of the "exemplary behaviour and conduct ... and the level of respect for the commemorative role of the Memorial and involvement in the Education Program" during the recent Year 11&12 trip to Canberra.
At both the War Memorial and Old Parliament House, experienced tour guides commented that our SMMC students were the best groups they had worked with. While the recognition is pleasing, the growth in virtue, openness to learning and capacity to engage with people and ideas is what we are aiming for in the culminating years of school and what we saw on show at these venues. Parents can be rightly proud of their children.
But, above all, the purpose of the school is, as the Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart beseeches Our Lord, to Imprint thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget thee or be separated from thee.
Thanks for your support.
Warm regards,
Ian Smith
Principal
