Term 3, 2026 Newsletter: week 10
Dear parents,
Eddie McGuire famously used to introduce The Footy Show saying, "It's been a big week in footy." Well, to paraphrase, it has been a big week, month, term and year so far at school.
Yesterday's farewell to the Year 12 graduating class was a fitting tribute to the capability and perseverance of students and support of their families. The graduands were gifted with Rosary Beads and a Bible to help with keeping up daily prayer. In a particularly moving part of the ceremony, each Year 12 student read a few verses from their new Bible to get them started now that they are without the easy fall back of school routines. I am most grateful to Fr Pham for the celebration of Mass and his attendance at the morning tea and assembly.
In another big moment, the Festival of the Arts drew more than 400 guests for a night of great company, the hospitality of our Food Tech students, commanding performances of our Music and Drama students and dazzling artistry of Visual Arts students. Highlights included the exhibition of the 2025 HSC Visual Arts bodies of work and a series of stunning vocal solos and duets. These students don't just talk about getting out of their comfort zones, they walk the talk.
Thank you for your support through these events and every ordinary day of a busy Term 3. I wish you a happy and peaceful break, and may your team win on grand final day!
Warm regards,
Ian Smith
Principal
